livelihood by one dollar per day. In the context of Nepal
, more than 42 percent populace is below poverty line while
the population of Nepal is 25 million. For poverty reduction
liberalization policies need to initiate in the country.
Nepal occupies 147,181 square kilometer of earth surface,
contains multi races people with full diversities and is
predominantly an agricultural country where above 70 percent
of its total population are engaged in agriculture. Therefore,
agriculture has dominant role in the economy along with
diverse characters in there major different geographical
regions i.e. Mountain, Hill & Terai. Nepal is characterized
by complex topographical features, including a prominent
'spine' of mountains in northern part of the country of
which Mt. Everest, with an elevation of 29000 ft, is most
famous and highest mountain in the world. Tiny nation Nepal
is rich in its natural beauty as well as in biodiversity
located at the diverse geographical regions of different
altitudinous within a short span of landmass. Varieties
of flora and fauna are available in different altitude ranging
from 300 to 29000 ft from sea level within a short span
of landmass. Varieties of flora and fauna and their habitats
are not only the pride of Nepal, rather they are global
wealth of human kind signified as world heritage. The existence
of these species, is very much associated with the existence
of human being representing different religion and culture.
It is the land of scenic grandeur which reveals picturesque
hamlets surrounded by elaborate terraced fields and forested
ridges. Trekkers may field contrasts in people and culture
from one ecological level to another. Besides, there is
always the prospect of viewing some of the highest mountains
in the world. One may meet friendly & hospitable Nepalese
people on their way. Visitors may find that life in rural
Nepal is hard but simple.
About 90.8 % of the people live in rural areas who have
adopted agriculture occupation as the basis of livelihood
and source of income. Search for employment has caused rural
people to shift to urban areas continuously. All these facts
reflects that Nepalese human resource is very cheap in the
international market. Only we need to have proper organization
to mobilize human resource and to boost the economy of Nepal.
The homeland of the brave Gurkhas and the
country of great Himalayans; Nepal is a land-locked country
which is situated between the two giants countries of Asia
China and India. Small but beautiful country, Nepal has
diversifield cultural people living together in peace and
harmony. Himalayan kingdom Nepal has constitutional monarchy
and its major revenue collection is heavily depended upon
its tourism. Until 1951 Nepal was forbidden to go outside
world. History shows that the British first hired Nepalese
Gurkhas to join the military forces establishing a regiment
called the Gurkha regiment in 1815. Nepal started to provide
manpower forces to overseas countries since last century.
Since then Nepalese people have been involved in overseas
Nepalese workers are known to be honest and most disciplined
throughout the world.
